New World
A warrior's place is in war, among comrades, in the fray;
Exploring the frontier of their ability, mindset, determination and self.
At home, in comfort, predictability, stillness and ease,
Is where the warrior soul goes to die.
We were taken from the front lines and isolated in our homes,
But we have not died.
The Buddha claims that all things always change, and so those who enjoy change will always be happy. At Frontier Performance change has occurred, as it must, and I am very happy about it. Our program has evolved to address the diversity and needs of the Frontier Performance tribe. FP has always been about creating a space and a system where those who love/hate themselves enough can bridge the gap between someone who participates and someone who thrives. This has been and always will be my goal for Frontier, more so now than ever.
The future of Frontier includes more time-efficient options to make sure that every athlete gets the most out of each opportunity at FP. I have always taken great care to focus on sustainability when programming functional fitness at FP. Nevertheless, I knew that more could be done in regards to injury prevention. Athletes who rarely get boo boos and injuries don't have to deal with the headache of rehab programs and 'cant-train-hard depression'. So you will see, as we roll it out, a focused drive towards anti-fragility in all aspects of FP programming.
In addition to the anti-fragility programming, you will notice that a Functional Fitness Strength Program is now available. This program is purpose driven toward creating a balanced 90 minute experience for those who are able to and want to maximize every FP opportunity. The FFSP is a 20-30 minute supplement to your conditioning class, done before or after. It is created such that, if done 2-3 times per week, it will drive up your classic lifts [snatch, clean and jerk] and your base strength [squat, overhead]. The volume and intensity will vary progressively over the course of 12 weeks to create the super-compensatory effect of dedicated strength programming, but in a functional fitness context. This will keep the dedicated FF athlete ready for competition and consistently evolving.
My position as the Chief Psychopath in Charge of Type 2 Fun at Frontier Performance has not changed and will not change. Leading this gang of heart breakers and dream crushers has been the highlight of my existence and has taught me many things. Most important of those things, is that FP is a living breathing being, growing and evolving in total chaos with stunning order. It is predictably unpredictable, calmly intense, and these factors have nothing to do with me. Frontier Performance is a storm, and I am in the eye of it on certain days and the gale on others. The strength of FP is in the will and the action of its people. People create the unmeasurable magic of community and the intangible intensity that you know exists but cannot see, smell or taste. The self-understanding and actualization that comes with the FP experience cannot be manufactured, it must be organic and it can only be found within the team. Now, more than ever, we understand this; that we are nothing alone, at home, in peace and comfort. We are only our true selves together, breathing blood, gripping steel and pushing our limits.
You are not part of Frontier, you are Frontier.
